Jacksonville International Airport has awarded PrimeFlight with two different contracts related to the baggage handling process. The contract for baggage handling services at baggage security checkpoints throughout the airport are designed to free existing TSA security screeners from the baggage loading and handling services at checkpoints. This will shorten the lines for travelers and allow TSA screeners to focus on the overall security process. The contract award in Jacksonville follows a similar contract award by the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority for baggage services at Orlando International. CEO Keith Wolken commented, “We are pleased to be working alongside the Transportation Security Administration in the delivery of this important benefit to the Jacksonville airport and look to expand it to other airports in the future.” PrimeFlight also earned the contract to manage the staffing for the automated baggage system at the airport. The Jacksonville Aviation Authority installed the system during the airport’s recent expansion, and it is one of the most advanced automated baggage systems in the industry. The inline system streamlines the entire process of moving bags for the airport’s six million annual passengers through a comprehensive handling, labeling, and scanning protocol. PrimeFlight is responsible for managing the baggage flow, ensuring the accuracy of the scanning process, and troubleshooting the system.
