PrimeFlight Aviation Services Achieves CEIV Pharma Recertification at MIA Cargo Facility

January 12, 2026

(Sugar Land, TX – January 12, 2026) PrimeFlight Cargo at Miami International Airport has successfully achieved recertification under the CEIV Pharma (Center of Excellence for Independent Validators in Pharmaceutical Logistics) program.

“This industry-leading certification, awarded by the International Air Transport Association (IATA), reflects the highest standards in pharmaceutical cargo handling,” explained Shawnpaul Booth, Senior VP of Cargo and Global Strategy. “It reinforces PrimeFlight’s commitment to safety, reliability, and operational excellence.”

CEIV Pharma is the highest-level certification available for airlines and handlers worldwide, requiring facilities to demonstrate strict compliance with temperature control, risk management, quality assurance, and regulatory standards. Due to the sensitivity and complexity of pharmaceutical cargo, certification involves extensive procedural development, employee training, infrastructure validation, and performance monitoring.

After more than a year of preparation, the PrimeFlight Cargo team at MIA successfully completed its recertification by implementing robust operating procedures, training programs, emergency response plans, and equipment maintenance protocols. The operation met approximately 275 audit requirements, confirming the station’s ability to safely handle, store, and transport temperature-sensitive pharmaceutical products across the supply chain.

“This recertification further positions PrimeFlight as a trusted partner for pharmaceutical manufacturers, airlines, and logistics providers seeking secure, compliant, and reliable cargo handling solutions,” Shawnpaul noted. “This achievement reflects our continued dedication to protecting product integrity, reducing operational risk, and delivering consistent quality across our global cargo operations.”

The initiative was led by Senior General Manager Sergio Roa and Quality Control Analyst Vivian Ipina Mekin, who directed operational development and training for nearly 160 team members. Office Manager Viviana Davis coordinated infrastructure and facility readiness, with strategic guidance provided by Vice President of Cargo Andres Gonzalez.
